Essential Items for every day

Here’s a list of essential items to bring:

  • Fruit to Share: We have a lovely tradition of each child bringing their chosen item of fruit to share during snack time each day with their friends. This is a lovely opportunity for parents to talk with their child about the setting and which fruit/vegetable their child would like to bring, as well as a opportunity for the children to chat during snack time about who brought what fruit and why. Learning about their friends likes and dislikes and learning to share in a beautiful way.

  • Nappies: Always have enough for the duration of the day. (No pull ups please)

  • Wet Wipes:

  • Nappy Bags: For disposing of used nappies hygienically.

  • Change of Clothes: Essential in case of spills, accidents, or weather changes.

The Importance of Weather-Appropriate Clothing

It is very important to us here at Sewing Seeds Kindergarten, that we are able to enjoy the outside no matter what the weather. It is therefore essential that children are provided with suitable, weather appropriate clothing each day.

All Year please provide

  • Waterproof Clothing: Essential for keeping dry during rainy conditions, we need full waterproofs ideally made from Recycled Polyester with a PU coating to ensure children stay dry in the wettest of weather.

  • Wellies: Protect feet from getting wet and muddy, making outdoor play enjoyable.

In Winter Please also provide

  • Woolly hat, waterproof gloves and scarves.

  • It would also be amazing if you dress your children in wool base layers under their clothing to ensure they stay warm.

  • Slippers

In Summer

  • Hats: Provide protection from the sun or warmth in colder weather.

  • Sun Cream: Important for protecting skin from harmful UV rays during sunny days. Please apply sun cream before arriving. And put your labelled sun cream in your child's bag so I can reapply throughout the day. (I request that you provide a sun cream that does not contain aloe vera, as I am severely allergic)
